Privacy Policy

The short version: Itermark is local-first. Your projects and progress photos are stored on your device and, in Release builds when iCloud is available, may synchronize through the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple account. Neon Tiger Labs has no Itermark account system or app server and cannot browse your private iCloud records. The app sends anonymous usage counts through TelemetryDeck, and you can switch that off in Settings. We do not sell data or use it for cross-app or cross-site behavioral advertising.

1. Who we are

Itermark is made by Neon Tiger Labs LLC, a California limited liability company. In this policy, “we” refers to Neon Tiger Labs LLC; “the app” refers to the Itermark iOS app, and “the site” to the itermark.app website.

2. What Itermark stores

Itermark stores your projects, progress entries, capture dates, notes, alignment adjustments, project settings, and progress photos locally on your device. Project records are stored with SwiftData. Image files are also maintained in the app’s private storage so the app can render, export, and recover your series efficiently.

The normalized photo data associated with an entry is also represented as SwiftData external storage so it can synchronize as a CloudKit asset. This means the Release app is not device-only even though it remains local-first.

3. Private iCloud sync

In Release builds, Itermark enables Apple CloudKit. When iCloud is available, project records and progress-photo data may synchronize through the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple account so your series can be available on your Apple devices.

Apple governs that processing under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Neon Tiger Labs does not operate an Itermark account server and does not have application-level access to your private CloudKit records.

CloudKit synchronization necessarily sends the records being synchronized to Apple’s iCloud service. This is separate from the analytics described below.

4. Anonymous usage counts

The app sends anonymous product-interaction usage counts through TelemetryDeck. These signals tell us which features are used and how often so we can maintain and improve the product.

What is excluded: your photos, filenames, project names, custom category names, notes, and capture dates are not included in Itermark’s usage counts. Where counts are reported by the app, they use coarse buckets rather than exact project-size values. Itermark does not use an advertising identifier and has no NTL account to join analytics to.

Turning it off: Settings › Privacy › Share Usage Counts. When disabled, Itermark does not initialize its analytics client for product signals.

5. Camera and photo library

Itermark asks for camera access to take progress photos, photo-library access to import existing photos, and add-only photo access to save reveals you create. These permissions are used when you request those actions. You can revoke them in iOS Settings.

6. Sharing, import, and export

Photos, reveals, and project archives can leave Itermark when you explicitly choose a share, save, import, or export action. The app hands exported content to Apple’s system share/save interfaces or to the destination you select. Neon Tiger Labs does not receive the contents of those files. After you share a file, the destination you chose governs its handling.

7. Purchases

Premium purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Payment credentials are handled by Apple; Neon Tiger Labs does not receive your card number or other payment credentials. The app checks entitlement state through StoreKit.

8. The website

itermark.app is a static site. It sets no advertising cookies, runs no product analytics, and embeds no third-party tracking scripts. Standard web-server logs, such as IP address and request path, may exist transiently at our Amazon Web Services hosting infrastructure for security and operations.

9. Services relevant to this policy

Itermark does not use advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, the Meta/Facebook SDK, Google Analytics, or advertising identifiers for cross-app or cross-site profiling.

10. Deletion and control

Deleting a project or progress entry in Itermark removes that record from the app. When CloudKit synchronization is active, those changes propagate through iCloud after synchronization completes.

Uninstalling Itermark removes its local app data from that device but does not necessarily remove synchronized records already stored in your iCloud account. Apple provides iCloud storage controls in iOS Settings for managing app data stored in iCloud.

You can turn product analytics off at any time in Settings. There is no NTL account to close or server-side profile for us to delete.

11. Children

Itermark is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly use the app to collect personal information from children under 13.

12. California residents

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Itermark’s limited product analytics are not linked by Neon Tiger Labs to an account or known identity and can be disabled in Settings. California residents may contact privacy@neontigerlabs.com with a privacy request or question.

13. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be described on this page or in the app’s release notes where appropriate.
